Give your garden a fresh start and support a greener Crystal at the annual Friends of Crystal Parks Plant Sale on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Becker Park Amphitheater (5530 Douglas Dr. N). All proceeds benefit improvements to Crystal’s parks and open spaces.

Starting March 31, the recycling program in the City of Crystal will expand to include the curbside collection of organics. Organics consist of food scraps and non-recyclable paper such as napkins and paper towels, and it will be collected weekly on the same day as residents’ trash. To participate in curbside organics recycling, residents must register online.

In her first State of the City address, Mayor Julie Deshler outlined key initiatives for Crystal’s continued growth. Highlighting progress in public safety, parks, infrastructure, and recreation, the mayor emphasized the importance of collaboration in shaping a thriving community.
